I Have Left This Place

I have been working on a body of work, that may be installed as one rolling landscape of work that brings together a multitude of large and small sculptural pieces that depict habitats. This collection deals with the ideas of cultural and personal loss through the transition of time and history. Houses are in the process of succumbing to the natural elements, which in itself is acceptable, but results in grief, despair and longing.

These discarded shanty homes are set in the stoic alien landscape of the American West juxtaposed by the exposing of lonely interiors, questioning the emigrants and their need to abandon safety, routines, and life treasures, leaving only vapor-like dreams.
