"I can't remember my home."
Using a combination of landscapes and abstract images, my paintings are about the search for identity and reason through the intersection of memory and the natural world. Sensations of fear, curiosity, and idealism are portrayed through peculiar environments. These landscapes represent the pain and uncertainty one feels during their youth. Colorful abstract layers are an attempt to find reason and tame the unknown. Gentle and colorful forms embrace the viewer while offering compassion in a wayward place. With each painting I complete there is a new sense of clarity. The series of events that I was too young to remember unveil their effects. I become more attuned to my existence and acceptance of the past.
