I use photography and digital manipulation techniques to make images about the impact that social, political and environmental issues have on the Colombian landscape. I appropriate images from sources such as photographic archives, newspapers,  and websites that reference current and past situations in Colombia. I then transform these images by combining them with my own original photographs. By digitally manipulating the resulting images, I hope to construct a new narrative, one that although directly linked to Colombia, is also open to interpretation in relation to similar realities around the globe. Furthermore, I want the digital processing I employ to motivate the viewer to question the authenticity of what they are looking at, to feel the tension between reality and fantasy, past and present, life and death and to observe in detail.
